Freshly Made Sketch and ColourQ Challenges

I created this card using a sketch from one of my new favorite challenge blogs, Freshly Made Sketches and a color combination offered at ColourQ (another of my new favorite challenge blogs!

The papers are all Club Scrap and come from a variety of their kits: Raku, Retro, Apothecary & Common Threads. The stamps are also from the Raku Kit and the ribbon is Club Scrap as well, but I don't know which kit.

Squirrely Challenge - Chalked Embossed & a few other Challenges met!

Here is another card for Nancy's Squirrely challenge using a technique junkies idea called chalked embossed. I made several different backgrounds at once and this is one that still needed a card for a home. I've added pink and brown as well as paper piercing (using the Stampin Up tool that Nancy gave me) to qualify for the Friday Mashup challenge as well. Since I used a butterfly embossing folder, I'm also linking to the Flutterby Challenge.

I've used all Club Scrap paper from the Dream In Color kit (my least favorite of all time) and I'm still not sure i like the color combo of red, pink and brown with the yellow I already had on the background, but i'm going with it!

You can also see some of the other squirrel girls take on the chalked embossed technique:
and of course, our fearless Squirrel Girl leader, Nancy

I’ve had several ideas in my head about how I was going to play along w/Farley’s challenge on the Club Scrap Community board and I think I’ve tried each and every one. This is what I finally landed on. Paper is Club Scrap (maybe hearth and home kit) and I printed designs from the digi version of the Bandanarama kit onto it before making into the rosette. The “postage” LOVE I created in PSE using the font from their Groovy Christmas kit which I printed on white paper and inked with Hero Arts Pool Shadow Ink. The text behind the letters is from a favorite old song of mine and says:
“Wouldn’t you agree, baby you and me got a groovy kind of love”

The heart rosette is just more of the same paper which I cut into the heart shape after forming the rosette. I wasn’t sure if it would work and it’s not perfect, but I think.

Crafting a collage creation with Club Scrap!

A Challenge was issued on the Club Scrap Community to create our own collage paper for use on cards/scrapbook pages/projects. I have wanted to do this for some time, so I eagerly went straight to work. It was majorly time consuming, but I love the
results. These stamps are all from the Club Scrap kit called Castaway. I stamped them all onto sticky notes and cut them out to use as masks, then I stamped and masked and stamped and masked and stamped and masked (you get the idea) onto a plain white 8.5x11 paper.

When I thought it was sufficiently stamped, I scanned it and printed a couple copies before inking so I could try a few color combinations or just in case I messed it up. Then, I inked it with Stormy Sky & Bundled Sage Distress inks and sprayed w/perfect pearl water before cutting right into it and making these cards.

I also made the greeting squares in PSE using elements from the Castaway digital kit which I printed and inked as well choosing the phrase BIG Thanks so that I could submit it for the Friday Mashup challenge #41, which apparently closed last night ;(.

Club Scrap January Sketch Relay & Play Date Cafe color challenge

Papers are from Club Scrap kits, Sonoma & Celestial (gold). Used gold leaf pen around purple photo mats. Printed text from sign onto transparency and painted back side w/gold metallic paint. Printed leaf on transparency and glittered in gold on opposite side. You can't tell it from this poor photo, but the paper on the left page is burgundy and the photo mats on the right page are purple.

Squirrely Challenge - Chalked Embossed

The lead squirrel (my good friend Nancy) took a break from hosting the squirrely challenges, but we are back on track now with this "chalked embossed" technique from a recent technique junkies newsletter.
All paper is Club Scrap (Freedom & Culinary kits).

Card set gift

I made 12 cards for Matt's mom for her Birthday on the 14th! (HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEGGY!). I forgot to take a photo of the first 6 i gave her last night at dinner, but here's the 2nd set of 6. I used a one sheet wonder (OSW) template to make the set, but cut 3 sheets of patterned card stock so I could mix and match...these were papers from an old Provo Craft Super Slab #9 which i got for a ridiculously low price (96 sheets total) at a local re-use it center.

Quietly craftin'

I haven't been updating my blog, but i have been working away in my creative space, so I thought i'd share a couple things.
